What We've Been Up To...
Tribal Membership Fellowship Initiative Mixer
Appreciating our Native Graduate Students
The Graduate Division, ITRC, and American Indian Graduate Student Association hosted the TMI graduate student mixer on March 8th.
The event was an opportunity for past and current TMI Fellows to get to know each other, build community, and get to know some of the staff and resources available at UC San Diego.

Contact us at itrc@ucsd.edu if you have questions about entering graduate school and the resources available to you.
San Bernardino Morongo Tribal TANF Event
The ITRC attended this family event which focused on providing information about higher education and programs available to Native American communities.

Interested in having the ITRC table at your community event? Email us at itrc@ucsd.edu
UC San Diego Indigenous Garden
The Native American Student Alliance has been working with the Student Sustainability Collective (SSC) and a student representative from Marshall College to build a sustainable garden of plants that are native to the land that UC San Diego sits upon. The garden will consist of aesthetic plants as well as plants that were used for various purposes by the Kumeyaay people. With this garden, NASA and the SSC are hoping to host a variety of workshops and events that will cover the ethnobotany of the plants in the garden in hopes that attendants return to the garden to use the plants with the knowledge that they gained from the workshops.

This project is still in progress but moving fairly quickly and we are very much looking forward to finishing the garden and opening it up for public use!
Family Night
The ITRC hosted it's 3rd monthly Family Night! This past month attendees played the hilarious game "Cards for Decolonization."

Join us this month on April 19th for more "Cards for Decolonization" and our "Best Enchiladas" contest.
Cobell Scholarship Workshop
Students and community educators attended a workshop hosted by the ITRC and Indigenous Education, Inc. to learn more about the Cobell Scholarship.

The Cobell Scholarship is available to any post-secondary student who is an enrolled member of a US Federally-Recognized Tribe and enrolled in full-time study with the intention of earning a degree.
On the Horizon: UC San Diego Native Symposium
The ITRC and Muir College have been working together to plan this year's Native Symposium. The symposium events will include our Powwow 101 Workshop, Rez Beats, guest speakers and more.

Keep an eye out for more information, available at https://itrc.ucsd.edu.
