What We've Been Up To...
14th Annual César E. Chávez Celebration Kickoff & Scholarship Awards
The ITRC celebrated UC San Diego’s 14 th Annual César E. Chávez Celebration Kickoff & Scholarship Awards with keynote speaker, Andrés Chávez, Director of Strategic Initiatives for the César Chávez Foundation and grandson of César Chávez. This opening event honored individuals that uphold the legacy of César E. Chávez.
Triton Day and Admitted Students Recruitment

The ITRC welcomed incoming Native students at this year's EDI sponsored Triton Day event. Triton Day brings the campus community together to showcase UC San Diego to newly admitted students and their families as a student-centered, research-focused, service-oriented public university. The day-long events provide our admitted students the chance to look deeper and explore the full range of opportunities available at UC San Diego.

The ITRC has also be involved in reaching out to all Native American students who have been admitted to UC San Diego to talk to them about the Native American community on campus as well as what resources are available to them.
Dream the Impossible Native Youth Conference
University of Redlands

The ITRC's director and UC San Diego Native students attended the Dream the Impossible Native Youth Conference at the University of Redlands. Our own Anthony Hurtado designed the artwork for this year's conference. The all-day event includeded workshops on Native culture, college life, healthy relationships, tribal government, and education. Representatives from many universities and vocational programs were on hand to offer information on career exploration. Award-winning Apsálooke rapper and fancy dancer, Supaman, was the featured keynote speaker for this year's conference.
