What do you like best about UC San Diego?

I like that UCSD has so many spots where you can enjoy nature even when you don't want togo too far from campus - like the hiking trail and Gliderport.

What advice do you have for incoming Native college students?

I would tell new Native Tritons to find community as fast as you can. You can study as hard as you want, but having friends around makes even the hardest class much more bearable. Join NAISA for instant friends!

What do you like to do for fun?

Lately, I've been hiking more for fun and playing with my cat, Apollo, because he always makes me smile.

What We've Been Up To

Final iCafe Segment for Summer 2021

ITRC staff participated in the final installment of Global Education's iCafe summer series. In this segment, Elena and Corrine talked about the Urban Indian community and it's role in the history of Indian activism. Native Tritons at the Game!

Last Friday the ITRC hosted it's annual Native Tritons at the Game night. Students, staff, and faculty met at Petco Park to watch the Padres play the Astros during the Padres' annual Native American Heritage Night theme game. Current Native Triton, Anthony Hurtado designed this year's group t-shirts.

The Native Tritons at the Game is the first event of the fall quarter and was a wonderful opportunity to meet incoming Native American undergraduates and reconnect with continuing students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
