The southwestern-most part of Asia is a region at the crossroads between Asia, Africa, and Europe. The 18 countries in West Asia includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cyprus, Georgia, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
Unlike the UNIDO, the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) excludes Iran from Western Asia and includes Turkey, Georgia, and Cyprus in the region. The term West Asia is used pragmatically and has no "correct" or generally agreed-upon definition.
Why is Western Asia called the Middle East?
It was because the British divided the world from their country's vantage point by coining terms like the Near East (the area closest to the United Kingdom), the Far East (which was east of British India), and the Middle East (which was between British India and the Near East). Near East is historically familiar, but is widely deprecated today.

Celebration is in the air for millions of Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Newar Buddhists across the globe who are observing Diwali — the Festival of Lights.
As a new moon comes into frame, the darkest night of the year is farewelled with great enthusiasm and grandeur.
Enter the season to laud the victory of good over evil.
The Festival of Lights ends with a lavish feast of traditional foods among siblings to celebrate the special family bond.
Sweetmeats are especially important to have in the mix as they signify forgetting bitterness and letting go the past.

India
In India, one of the most significant festivals is Diwali, or the Festival of Lights. It's a five-day celebration that includes good food, fireworks, colored sand, and special candles and lamps. Hindus interpret the Diwali story based upon where they live.
In one telling of the story, Diwali celebrates a Hindu god coming to Earth to destroy a demon that was destroying peace on Earth. In another, it celebrates a prince's royal homecoming after years in exile. As a whole, the Festival of Lights that is Diwali marks the victory of good over evil.

Singapore
Deepavali translates as “row of lights”. Based on the Hindu lunar calendar, Deepavali takes place on 24 October this year in Singapore, but the lights start to go up and the excitement starts building well in advance. Celebrations of light, color, fireworks, and feasting are concentrated on five days around that key date, but the lights outside celebrants’ home and other manifestations can be seen for some while before and after, especially in Singapore’s Little India district.

During the event, there will be numerous activities, such as worshiping Ganesha and the goddess Lakshmi to enhance luck and fortune and increase success in life.
Watch Indian folk arts and cultural shows, and enjoy light and sound in Bollywood style. There will also be many Indian-Thai food products for tasting, as well as countless other products for sale and many other activities during the three festive days.

Taiwan Vegetarian Cuisine
Taiwan is one of the world's most vegetarian-friendly destinations. The vegetarian dinner was delectable and flavorsome, especially the Mushrooms and Truffle Rice.
About 30% of Taiwan's population are Buddhists, many of which abstain from eating meat. That puts Taiwan at the top of the world when it comes to the number of vegetarians, an astonishing 14% of the population by some estimates.
