2026 CFP National Champions!!!!!

I need not give any details about the momentous playoff games, championship, and season. It was an unbelievable ride! To see these young men, on the biggest stage in college athletics, say, "Glory to God", "The only persons judgement that matters is our Lord's", "You will eventually win the battle because of Him". That was the greatest joy of watching them. Omar Cooper Jr., Mendoza, Charlie Becker and more, began a movement a of speaking up about their faith in Christ and demanding IU and all of college football to pay attention! I am honored to work with and alongside others who minister to the IU athletes. Grateful to witness athletes leading their teammates with eternity in mind!

What If It's True?

The thought behind the discussion - What if God is real, the Bible is true, and His promises are for you? The Student Leaders devoted an entire Huddle to leading fellow athletes through a series of verses that pointed to the reality of God's truths. They explored:

• Creator, Sin, Salvation, Forgiveness, Trust, Peace, Identity, & Victory in Christ

Relationship Panel

Dating According to God's design has become blurred and deemed boring in our current culture. Especially on college campuses, the best intentions of love can turn out poorly when we don't know the One who first loved us. IU FCA hosted their first Dating and Relationships Panel in which athletes submitted the real questions they need clarity and direction on in their existing and/or future relationships. Derek & Sydney, as well as, Gabbi & Nicholas were our gracious hosts! They answered questions surrounding love, labels, shame, dating, boundaries, singleness and marriage.

FCA x Upward Volunteer Day

The FCA athletes had the blessing of serving young players grades K-6 at Upward Basketball. It was so sweet to enter into the players, parents, and coaches world! FCA led teams in prayer before games, brought joy and high-fives to the benches, and filled practical needs of referees and scorekeepers. We desired to send the gospel home with not only players, but also their families. Every player was given The Core; a book explaining the basics of the Christian faith for all ages! At the end of the day, we have two prayers:

1. Players, teams & families come to know the saving faith of Jesus Christ Our Lord through the ministry of Upward Sports.
2. The players understand the WAY & WHY they play is to magnify God.

Discipleship with Des: IU Softball GA

It was hard to say goodbye to Des as she moved on from IU. She played softball at IU and then served as a GA on the team after graduation. Julia and I have been discipling her for over a year. She has a contagious and bubbly personality. Naturally, she shares her faith with her teammates and family so they too can experience the joy she has found in Christ! We are grateful to continue the relationship over Zoom and be there for her in life after college athletics!

Student Leader Training

Julia put together a wonderful introduction to spiritual gifts. None of the leader's had a grasp of what they are and how we can tap into them to serve others and glorify God. We discussed that we all have one Lord but serve Him in varied ways (1 Cor 12:4-7). More so, Christians are called to their God-given gifts for service; to build up one another in faith (Eph 4:11-13). The leader's assessed their spiritual gifts, examined their motive for serving, and reflected on how they are bearing spiritual fruit.

Mount Family Update

Over the past few months, Derek and I got celebrate his childhood friend, Titus, get married! Browzer (dog) could not wait to play in our 16 in. of snow each morning after the snowstorm; meaning I was also playing in the snow. I have also had the gift of coaching the JV & Varsity Girl's Basketball Team at Edgewood HS for 2 years now. 10 Seniors made up the varsity squad and we had an incredible season!
