The One Button Studio will open in the former Multimedia Production Studio in the Franklin D. Schurz Library on December 2. The One Button Studio is a digital video production room that requires no prior production experience. The studio is available for use by IU South Bend students, faculty, and staff. It is made possible by the IU South Bend Center for Distance Education and University Information Technology Services.

Use the studio to:

* Record a podcast
* Use green screen to create visual effects
* Rehearse speeches or other public presentations
* Create videos for instruction, student group promotion, or group projects

Reserve studio time at the kiosk in the library lobby or at:  http://libcal.iusb.edu/booking/mediaroom.

Annual program to donate half of proceeds to new campus food bank

By Julie Elliott

Pay off your library overdue fines with non-perishable food!

Food for Fines runs from December 7- December 18.

For every item you donate, we'll forgive $1 in outstanding library fines. There's no limit on the amount you may donate! Don't have a fine ... we're still happy to accept your donations.

The proceeds will be split between Titans Feeding Titans and the Food Bank of Northern Indiana. Titans Feeding Titans is a new program developed by students in the Master of Social Work department. It will open in the spring of 2016 in SAC 114. For more information about Titans Feeding Titans, contact Anne Drake at anmdrake@iusb.edu.

Food for Fines applies to IU South Bend Libraries fines only. We cannot accept food for replacement or damage fees as well as charges from other IU or campus entities.

Looking for something to read during semester break? Here are a few suggestions

The library's technical services faculty and staff have recently begun compiling a monthly list of new titles added to the collection. This list includes gift books as well as titles ordered by departments. If you would like either a copy of the entire list, or just a list of titles ordered by your department, please contact your subject librarian

Below is a small sampling of some of our new titles. The links below will take you to the catalog record, which will let you know if the title is available. Too cold to walk to the library? Don't forget about Fast book delivery for faculty, staff, and students living in campus housing.

Special thanks to Susan Thomas, Scott Opasik, and Liz Bell for their work on this project.

Giving to the Library
Donations help with collections, student scholarships, digitization, and more

Please consider making a gift to the IU South Bend Libraries.

When you donate to the Franklin D. Schurz Library and Wiekamp Educational Resource Commons, you invest in the success of every student at this university. Every year over 250,000 library users come in our doors to seek research guidance; to connect with study partners in collaborative workspaces and to use quiet areas for focused concentration; to receive library instruction; to create visual and media projects, and much more!  Others access our online resources and services.   Our collections--print and digital books and journals, media and more--remain an indispensable foundation for research, scholarship and teaching.
