| Greeting Friends, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for everyone who participated in the "Biggest Baby Shower on Earth" at the May 5th El Centro City Council meeting. Together, we were able to collect the following to bless families in our community...
- 676 boxes of diapers
- 50 boxes and 144 packages of diaper wipes
- 10 car seats
- 9 strollers
- 2 Baby Chairs
- 5 Diaper Bags
- Over 100 sets of clothing
- 40 sets of bottles
- 40 blankets
- 15 bath sets
- 50 bottles of shampoo & lotion
- 6 pack & play sets
What an amazing thing you have accomplished. I want you to know that all of the goods collected have already been distributed to the following pro-life organizations: The Real Hope Center, Birth Choice, House of Hope/ Catholic Charities, and Parent Life (an outreach of Youth for Christ). The response by this community was so overwhelming that the Imperial Valley Coalition for Life has decided to make the "biggest baby shower on earth" -- the Baby Shower for Life -- an annual event so that we might continue to provide for the needs of young families all across our valley. In the meantime, there are still many ways that you can help to promote life in the Imperial Valley. Feel free to contact any of the above ministries and ask how you can help by financial or commodity donations, and/or by volunteering. As we explained at the City Council meeting, our near-future goals include opening a pro-life health care clinic next to the Planned Parenthood site. Please keep this effort in your prayers.
