IVAT and Legacy Productions are offering a POST-Certified training focused on promoting officer wellness. More than Surviving: From Traumatic Stress to Wellness is being offered in April on a virtual platform.

Please Note: Under the directives of the POST grant providing this training, we are ONLY able to offer this training to California law enforcement officers who work for POST-participating agencies, as defined in Penal Code §13522, et seq. If you are not sure if you qualify, or you would like to discuss bringing this curriculum to your organization, please contact Morgan Shaw at morgans@ivatcenters.org.

More Than Surviving: From Traumatic Stress to Wellness

The training focuses on an officer’s overall wellness, notably after dealing with incident responses, organizational stress, and community confrontations. The long-term goals of this course:

  • To help officers take a proactive approach to recognizing and reducing stigma around dealing with stress
  • To increase officer safety and wellness, while reducing officer and agency exposure to liability
  • To promote trauma-informed wellness programs within the agencies

The curriculum is supplemented, through Legacy Productions’ “Keeping The Peace” film, with direct messages from key law enforcement commanding officers and chiefs throughout the state, as well as real-life video clips of peer officers providing insightful experiences and impressions. It is conducted by a multidisciplinary team of law enforcement and mental health professionals.
**Event open to California law enforcement officers who work for POST-participating agencies, as defined in Penal Code §13522, et seq.**
Class size is limited to 50 and offered on a first come, first serve basis. For questions, please contact Morgan Shaw at MorganS@ivatcenters.org

Why choose "More than Surviving" Training?
Read what our recent POST Training attendees have to say about our training:

"I have participated in 23 classes taught by ICISF CISM instructors, completed a 50-hr. training from Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc., and a 40-hr. POST Chaplaincy class, and completed 21 (7x 3hr.) graduate level course hours in a M.A. Pastoral Counseling-Crisis Response and Trauma. Your 7 hour class was EXCELLENT in content, delivery, and use of time for this very niche group. Bravo!!

"I really liked it and was pleased that even in a zoom meeting you could do the breakout sessions. I feel those are important. "

"Informative content and useful guidance."

"I felt the training was well done and very informative. It would be on my list of some of the best Peer Training I have attended."
