National Apprenticeship Week November 15-19, 2021
National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is a nationwide celebration that brings together business leaders, career seekers, labor, educational institutions, and other critical partners to demonstrate their support for apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship Illinois is celebrating Apprenticeship Week 2021 by hosting a range of events, in-person and virtually, and amplifying local and regional celebrations of apprenticeship. This week provides apprenticeship sponsors with the opportunity to showcase their programs, facilities, and apprentices in their community. It provides those curious about apprenticeship to learn more about all the benefits that come from learning and earning.

This week-long celebration highlights the benefits of apprenticeship in preparing a highly skilled workforce to meet the talent needs of Illinois employers across diverse industries.

Apprenticeship Funding Opportunities
There are two active Notices Of Funding Opportunity or NOFOs for apprenticeship.

Illinois was awarded nearly $6 million by the US Department of Labor for another round of state apprenticeship expansion. The total NOFO amount will be $8 million and will fund apprenticeship navigators in 10 Economic Development Regions or EDRs and also fund apprenticeship intermediary programs statewide. Proposals are due September 15th.

Illinois Works Pre-Apprenticeship NOFO is accepting applications until October 4th. This NOFO will fund $10 million in pre-apprenticeship programs expressly in construction and build trades. This NOFO is funded through the state's capital expansion bill.
