"Impressions
of Yellowstone" Gallery |
I've launched a new featured gallery on my website
called Impressions of
Yellowstone. Yellowstone National Park's many
geothermal features are a delight to millions of visitors every
year. Yellowstone essentially sits over an ancient volcanic "hot
spot" where magma from deep within the earth rises towards the
surface, heating water along the way.
The gallery is a collection of images I have taken over the years
of Yellowstone's many geysers, hot springs, and thermal pools.
Included in the collection are images of Mammoth Hot Springs, Old
Faithful, Midaway Geyser Basin, West Thumb Geyser Basin, as well as
images from other geothermal areas in the park.

Behind
the Lens |
Behind the Lens takes you behind the
scenes for a step-by-step description of how I made some of my
favorite photographs. In each installment, I discuss pre-capture
technical and artistic choices, as well as digital darkroom
techniques used to bring each image to life. The latest entry
discusses the making of Ocotillo Stars, featured left, deep
within the Arizona desert.
