Idaho GOP to hear Bingham County appeal on Saturday

A judge issued a temporary restraining order on Sept. 15 blocking the state Republican party from conducting a leadership election for the Bingham County Republican Central Committee, following allegations from the local party that Idaho GOP chairwoman Dorothy Moon has been negating certain county elections to install her own political allies.


The order temporarily blocks the party from electing new officers. The state Republican executive committee will hear the issue this Saturday, which may resolve the dispute.

Payment approved for wrongfully convicted man

The Board of Examiners unanimously approved a $322,595 payment Tuesday for an innocent man who the state of Idaho wrongfully incarcerated for five years and nine months for failing to register as a sex offender. It is the third time the Innocence Fund has been used since lawmakers passed the Wrongful Conviction Act in 2021.

Boise State University professor Dr. Laura King joins Ruth Brown to discuss a recent research study about the victimization of people with disabilities in Idaho. King and her team surveyed service providers and offered recommendations to improve accessibility and service provision for people with disabilities and for victims of crime, abuse, neglect or exploitation.

Longtime appellate public defender appointed as new State Public Defender

Gov. Brad Little announced Wednesday the appointment of Eric Fredericksen as State Public Defender to lead the newly created Office of the State Public Defender.


Fredericksen’s appointment is the first of its kind as Idaho transitions from county-paid public defense to state-paid public defense.
