Idaho Launch bill sidetracked, for now

After taking three weeks to review the bill ahead of its hearing, the Senate Commerce and Human Resources Committee tapped the brakes on the governor’s Idaho Launch proposal, introducing another bill on Wednesday morning to address their concerns.

House passes ban on minors at ‘sexual exhibitions’

Lawsuits under the bill could ask for $10,000 per offense, but there could also be monetary damages for any psychological or emotional damage the plaintiff claims.

Disabled community calls on Legislative Council to release direct care workforce report

A letter from the Caregiver Alliance states the recommendations in the Office of Performance Evaluations report “would be invaluable as we attempt to navigate how to address the critical workforce shortage in Idaho.”

New absentee, Blaine amendment bills introduced

Only county clerks distribute the ballots themselves, but sometimes candidates, campaigns, churches, military, nursing homes, or other organizations distribute the applications to request an absentee ballot.

Fish and Game cutting Slate Creek deer density

Nearly 300 deer have been killed in a small area of central Idaho as part of a project to reduce animal density and decrease the risk of spreading chronic wasting disease.  


The Idaho Department of Fish and Game described the operation as “a systematic and very coordinated removal of deer” that includes methods not typically used for hunting.
