Colorado Educator Steps into Leadership through Albion Center Scholarship

For as long as she can remember, Diane Friedericks has wanted to be a teacher. Her passion for teaching started when she was just a kid. “My neighborhood friends and I played school every chance we got,” she said. “Even as a kid, I knew I loved school and I knew I wanted to teach.” Today Friedericks is a high school English teacher at Vista Ridge High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her early enthusiasm for education has shaped her vision as an educator.

License Plate Recognition Technology Will Enhance Parking Permit Process

ISU Parking and Transportation Services is pleased to announce a simple and more convenient process for obtaining parking permits on campus. Beginning with a gradual rollout this fall, and with an official launch date in January 2026, employees and students will see a new patrol vehicle on campus that is equipped with license plate recognition (LPR) technology.

ISU’s Recipe for Success Program Offers Free Culinary Program for Job Seekers

This fall, the ISU Tech Cafe, located in the Roy F. Christensen building, will come to life. It will once again roar with the sounds of cooking and the chatter of chefs-in-the-making. These culinary craftsmen will take part in Recipe for Success, a pilot culinary and resume-building program offered by ISU’s Continuing Education and Workforce Training Department (CEWT).

To submit a campus update or story for Idaho State Today, fill out the online form by Friday at noon for Monday's edition, and Wednesday at noon for Thursday's edition. A separate newsletter called ROAR Weekly is sent to students on Wednesdays.
