Idaho State University Now Offering Associate Degree in Science

 The start of the 2025-26 academic year marks the beginning of ISU offering an associate degree in science. The 60-credit degree allows students to choose from a variety of courses across ISU’s College of Science and Engineering to earn a degree tailored to their interests.

ISU Mourns the Loss of Faculty Member Curt Anderson

Dr. Curt Anderson, a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, passed away August 19. While at ISU, Anderson studied neurophysiology and evolutionary neurobiology, and had more than 20 publications in biological sciences. His most recent book, Comparative Animal Physiology, is in the process of publication. Anderson had a deep passion for teaching and was loved by his students. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

A Message from President Wagner Concerning the Governor's Budget Holdback Announcement

Idaho State University entered FY2026 with a balanced budget, and each year brings new opportunities and challenges. On August 15, the Office of the Governor announced an executive order requiring a 3% budget holdback for FY2026, which equates to $3.1 million of appropriated expenditure reductions. I am working closely with University leadership to create a plan that meets the requirements of the holdback while minimizing the impact on the University and sustaining growth and forward momentum.

To submit a campus update or story for Idaho State Today, fill out the online form by Friday at noon for Monday's edition, and Wednesday at noon for Thursday's edition. A separate newsletter called ROAR Weekly is sent to students on Wednesdays.
