Learning in Motion: College of Education Sports Management Professor, Students and ISU Campus Recreation Launch New Exercise Facilities on Campus

Thanks to a $160,000 grant through the Dean’s Excellence Fund, Idaho State University’s College of Education, in collaboration with ISU Campus Recreation, finalized an exciting project that brought new recreational facilities to campus, which included brand-new pickleball courts and a fleet of exercise bikes at Reed Gym.

ISU Bands: The Soundtrack of Campus Life

Luke Strother is “very excited to be the new guy in town.” Strother joins Idaho State University as visiting assistant professor and director of the Concert and Athletic Bands, as well as applied trombone instructor. He will lead the marching band, wind ensemble, and pep band while also teaching trombone, his principal instrument.

From Pretending to be a Teacher to Becoming One: Halle McMillen Follows her Passion

For as long as she can remember, Halle McMillen has always wanted to be a teacher. She remembers playing “school” as a child and being awestruck by her own elementary school educators. The early admiration she had for her own teachers turned into a desire to teach after a formative experience in high school.

To submit a campus update or story for Idaho State Today, fill out the online form by Friday at noon for Monday's edition, and Wednesday at noon for Thursday's edition. A separate newsletter called ROAR Weekly is sent to students on Wednesdays.
