Traveling in TRAIL: Rural School Practicum Opens Future Teachers Minds

Twelve Idaho State University College of Education students had the opportunity to participate in the inaugural Teaching in Rural Areas Immersion Learning (TRAIL) Experience in May 2023. ISU Teaching and Educational Studies professors, Dr. Amanda Eller and Suzanne Beasterfield, were awarded a College of Education Dean’s Excellence Grant to create and take students on the TRAIL Experience.

Katie Thomas Named AVP for Human Resources

After a thorough national search, Katie Thomas has been appointed Associate Vice President for Human Resources. Thomas has served in this position as interim since January 2022, and has continued to demonstrate exemplary leadership for the campus community. Thomas brings several years experience in leading and developing HR programs in higher education at both Idaho State University and Boise State University.

Open House Set for New 3D Printing Lab

The Idaho State University community is invited to join the Department of Mechanical Engineering for an open house in the department’s new 3D Printing Laboratory Monday, June 5, at 3 p.m. in the Lillibridge Engineering Laboratory, Room 110. The event will showcase the opportunities the laboratory provides for ISU students, local businesses and industries, as well as the community.

Idaho State Today is a twice-weekly employee newsletter that shares University successes, campus updates, and recognizes faculty and staff accomplishments. All past editions of the newsletter are archived online.

To submit a campus update or story for Idaho State Today, fill out the online form by Friday at noon for Monday's edition, and Wednesday at noon for Thursday's edition. A separate newsletter called ROAR Weekly is sent to students on Wednesdays.
