Andy Whittier's Journey from ISU to Team USA

As part of Idaho State University's yearlong 125th anniversary celebration, ISU is featuring stories of notable alumni throughout the years. 


One day in 2020, while doing some midday doomscrolling, Andy Whittier saw a sponsored ad that would change his life: “USA Bobsled-Skeleton Virtual Tryout. Send us your numbers.” Thanks to Cool Runnings, Whittier knew what bobsled was, but not skeleton. Taking a chance, he sent in numbers from his ISU football days and got invited to Park City, Utah for a training and trial run.

College of Pharmacy National Board Exam Pass Rate is Ranked Top 5 in the Nation and #1 in the Western United States. 

Out of 142 Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) schools, only 12 achieved a pass rate of 95% or more in 2025. The ISU L.S. Skaggs College of Pharmacy is one of those schools with a pass rate of 97.9%, becoming one of the top five schools in the nation and the highest scoring school in the Western United States.

Idaho State University Partners with March Mayhem Fire Conference, First Steps for Future Meridian Development

Idaho State University is taking the first operational steps toward the future development of its Locust Grove property in Meridian through a unique community safety initiative. ISU has donated an existing unoccupied structure to the March Mayhem Fire Conference, providing regional first responders with a rare and invaluable opportunity to conduct live training exercises on Friday, March 13.

Idaho State Today is a twice-weekly employee newsletter that shares University successes, campus updates, and recognizes faculty and staff accomplishments. All past editions of the newsletter are archived online.


To submit a campus update or story for Idaho State Today, fill out the online form by Friday at noon for Monday's edition, and Wednesday at noon for Thursday's edition. A separate newsletter called ROAR Weekly is sent to students on Wednesdays.
