Benny's Pantry Receives Statewide Recognition

Benny's Pantry was recently honored with the "Strength of Partner Agency Network" award at the annual Idaho Foodbank Partner Conference, recognizing the pantry's commitment to serving the campus community with dignity, care, and connection. The award highlights the work of the Benny's Pantry staff and volunteers, whose efforts have helped transform the pantry into more than just a food resource for students, staff, and faculty.

Joan Callahan Selected for Chief Legal and Compliance Officer

After a national search, Idaho State University is pleased to welcome Joan E. Callahan into the role of chief legal and compliance officer, effective July 1, 2026. Callahan will fill the position previously held by Blake Christensen, continuing the leadership of the university’s legal and compliance functions. Callahan is an Idaho attorney with substantial experience advising governmental and educational entities on complex legal, compliance, policy, and operational matters.

Canvas Cybersecurity Incident Resolved

Idaho State University has received confirmation from Instructure that the Canvas cybersecurity incident has been resolved. ISU has removed all limitations associated with Canvas and faculty, staff and students now have full access to Canvas. Summer courses will move forward as usual. We appreciate the patience and responsiveness of our ISU community as we have worked through this difficult situation.

To submit a campus update or story for Idaho State Today, fill out the online form by Friday at noon for Monday's edition, and Wednesday at noon for Thursday's edition. A separate newsletter called ROAR Weekly is sent to students on Wednesdays.
