Ten ISU Students Pass Nuclear Reactor Operator Exam to Become Licensed

Idaho State University students have earned a rare and nationally recognized credential: a U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Reactor Operator license. This spring, 10 students—six from the College of Technology’s nuclear operations technology program and four from the College of Science and Engineering’s nuclear engineering program—successfully passed the NRC’s rigorous reactor operator (RO) exam.

Fighting Hunger Through Research and Action at Benny’s Pantry

Rachel Nielsen, a student working towards a master's degree in public administration in the Department of Political Science, has worked as the Benny's Pantry student manager for nearly two years. Her devotion to non-profit work around food security led to a research initiative in collaboration with Associate Professor Shin Kue Ryu, Ph.D., assistant professor or political science.

College of Science and Engineering Dean Selection

After careful consideration of all the feedback from faculty and staff, an offer was extended and accepted for the position of dean for the College of Science and Engineering by James M. Widmann, Ph.D. Dr. Widmann received his undergraduate degree from Michigan Technological University, and a masters and Ph.D. from Stanford University, all in mechanical engineering.
