Extreme Yellowstone Flooding is Focus of Research by Idaho State University Ecologists

How portions of the Yellowstone National Park ecosystem responded to last year’s historic flooding is the focus of a new research project by Idaho State University stream ecologists. Recently, Colden Baxter, professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, was awarded $100,000 to study how the 1 in 500-year extreme flooding event in June 2022 impacted streams in the headwaters of the Yellowstone and Lamar Rivers.

Two ISU Employees Named to Idaho Business Review’s Accomplished Under 40

Two Idaho State University employees have been honored by the Idaho Business Review as Accomplished Under 40 award winners.  Emily Jahsman, associate director at the ISU Career Center, and Mustafa Mashal, associate professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, were selected from nearly 200 nominees. The program highlights exceptional business and professional leaders in Idaho under the age of 40.

Adjunct Instructors Recognized by Idaho State Historical Society

Two adjunct faculty, Dr. Hope Benedict and Ronald James, will receive the 2023 Esto Perpetua Award from the Idaho State Historical Society at an awards banquet June 5. The Esto Perpetua Award takes its name from the state’s motto, “let it be perpetual” and for the past 24 years, the Idaho State Historical Society has recognized people and organizations who have preserved and promoted Idaho’s history through professional accomplishments, public service or volunteerism, and philanthropy.
