Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition Returns to Idaho State University

The Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition is returning to Idaho State University Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. in Jensen Grand Concert Hall on the campus of Idaho State University in Pocatello. The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, renamed in 2021 the “Laffont Competition,” is designed to discover promising young opera singers and assist in the development of their careers.

College of Business Establishes New Commercialization Center to Help High-Tech Entrepreneurs

Idaho State University’s College of Business has been awarded a $125,000 Grant by the Small Business Administration’s Federal and State Technology (FAST) Partnership Program. The award will allow the College of Business to establish the Idaho State College of Business Commercialization Center.

Continuing Education and Workforce Training Receives Grant for Health Programs, Mental Health Training

Idaho State University’s Continuing Education and Workforce Training Health Programs has received a $281,000 grant to improve programs for community members, first responders and health care professionals. Grant funds will be used for training instructors, providing advanced training for EMTs and CNAs, mental health awareness, and Mental Health First Aid training for community members throughout our region.
