ISU Biologist Receives Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from NSF

A researcher at Idaho State University has earned a sought-after postdoctoral fellowship in biology from the National Science Foundation. Alyse Maksimoski, postdoctoral associate in the biological sciences department, was named a recipient of one of the NSF’s Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Biology.

Graduate School Book Drive Continues

The ISU Graduate School is still accepting book donations for their annual K-4 Book Drive. You can help them reach their goal of donating 1,000 books to local Pocatello and Chubbuck elementary schools for the holidays. The deadline is October 31.There are multiple ways to donate.

Grace Stander Named October CPI of the Month


Grace Stander, an intern in the Department of Anthropology and Languages, is October's CPI of the month. Stander is double-majoring in speech-language pathology and anthropology with an emphasis on linguistics. In her internship, Stander has been learning how to catalog and process library books, handle and describe archival materials, and enter, code, and analyze survey data.

ISU Names GEM Award Recipients


Three faculty have been named GEM award winners by Idaho State University.This award celebrates excellence in General Education and recognizes faculty who engage students with innovative teaching practices, help non-majors understand and broadly apply disciplinary methods of inquiry, and implement strategies to increase access and affordability for students.

To submit a campus update or story for Idaho State Today, fill out the online form by Friday at noon for Monday's edition, and Wednesday at noon for Thursday's edition. A separate newsletter called ROAR Weekly is sent to students on Wednesdays.
