"Learning Through the Soles of Your Feet": Students Learn History, Culture In Ireland 

Last spring, graduate students from the Master of Arts in History program, Cassie Ashdown, Tyler Holman, and Jon Madson, traveled to Dublin, Ireland, to experience the city and conduct research relevant to their respective areas of study. 

The trip came at the end of the spring semester, during which the students took HIST 4445: Modern Irish History with Department of History Associate Professor Justin Dolan Stover.

University Mourns the Loss of Abner Sims

Abner Sims, a longtime Idaho State University employee who kept the University’s buses running and in good condition for more than a decade, passed away August 25. Abner was well-loved across campus, and was known for having at least five projects going at any time, from restoring a 1965 mini-Cooper to building Cessna airplanes from scratch, from the wings down to the wiring on the lights and the fuel tanks.

After an extensive national search, Idaho State University has appointed Cathy Wooton as Vice President of Advancement. Wooton is currently the Senior Associate Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations at University of the Pacific. For nearly 30 years, she has played a leading role at the institution, which has included growing fundraising productivity and increasing community involvement.

To submit a campus update or story for Idaho State Today, fill out the online form by Friday at noon for Monday's edition, and Wednesday at noon for Thursday's edition. A separate newsletter called ROAR Weekly is sent to students on Wednesdays.
