Donor Support at ISU Continues Upward Trend

Idaho State University has once again demonstrated the power of community support by receiving more than $18 million in philanthropic contributions for fiscal year 2024. This amount surpasses the previous year’s donations by nearly $4 million. A total of 8,853 donors contributed to endowed student scholarships, faculty support, research initiatives, athletic programs and other priority areas.

ISU Researchers Look at Mushrooms as Possible Solution to Plastic Waste Problem

Picture this: you own a banana field in Guatemala. You cover your bananas in a blue plastic material to keep bugs and other pests away from the fruit. But what do you do with the plastic when you’re done with it? “The owner wasn’t proud of it, but he admitted he threw the plastic coverings in the river when he was done with them,” said Gavin Pechey. "This was likely happening at many of the other banana fields as well. I thought ‘there has to be another way.’”

Jeremy Green Named Chief Campus Administrator for Eastern and Southern Idaho

To submit a campus update or story for Idaho State Today, fill out the online form by Friday at noon for Monday's edition, and Wednesday at noon for Thursday's edition. A separate newsletter called ROAR Weekly is sent to students on Wednesdays.
