26th Emmaus Walk

26th Emmaus Talk!

Dear brothers and sisters

A couple of weeks ago, we completed our 57th Diocesan Convention. It was a grand celebration, a wonderful community gathering, and a great spiritual experience for many. Thank YOU for making it memorable.

I want to take a moment to express how wonderful the efforts of the Deans of Eastern Deanery were in planning and organizing the 57th Convention of the Episcopal Church in Idaho. Their dedication, thoughtful planning, and attention to detail created a welcoming, inspiring, and seamless experience for everyone involved.

From the meaningful worship services organized by the Rev. Karen Hunter to the engaging discussions and fellowship opportunities, it was evident how much care and prayer went into every aspect of this time together.

Thank each of you for embodying Christ through hard conversations, deliberations, discussions, and fellowship time. I also take this moment to thank Carrol Keller, Sterling Blackwell, and my staff for their countless hours of planning this event. You, the clergy, the delegates, the visitors, and others all brought the diocesan community together in a spirit of unity, joy, and purpose, embodying what it means to serve Christ and His Church.

Your brother in Christ

Monthly Prayer

In this season of Advent, we await Your Son, the Prince of Peace. As we light the candles, may their light dispel the darkness of war and violence. Comfort the suffering, protect the innocent, and guide leaders toward justice and peace. Prepare our hearts to be instruments of Your peace, and may Your Kingdom grow within us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Join the Franciscan Community

Is God calling you to practice Franciscan Spirituality, where you love God, love your people, love the world, care for creation, and be an example by living simply? St. Francis of Assisi is still relevant in our world because he transcended the trappings of the world around him. Maybe you and I can live the same way, without the rigorous lifestyle of Francis, but by the simple, intentional, and prayerful lives we lead today in our context.

Perhaps you need prayerful support in your life. Perhaps you have gifts God is calling you to share. Perhaps you feel called to work on behalf of the poor and marginalized. Perhaps God is leading you to follow the little poor man of Assisi so that your love for God and creation may grow. Anyone is welcome to join: men, women, lay, clergy, married, single, young and old, to join as Companions in a diverse Franciscan family.

I invite you to become a Companion of The Society of Saint Francis, an international religious community of men and women within the Anglican Communion inspired by the 13th-century mystic Saint Francis of Assisi. Click and register to learn more and join the International group, The Third Order of the Society of St. Francis companions.

Seeking Education For Ministry or EFM Trained People

Bishop Jos would like to compile a list of those who have taken the training.

Education for Ministry is a wonderful program to prepare people with interest in any sort of Christian ministry within the church. I have learned there are several of you who have completed EfM training. If you have completed EfM training, could you please register yourself here, so that I know who you are and would love to visit with you to strengthen EfM in Idaho and gather for a conversation over Zoom. Please Register by clicking here
