Poly’s Air Force JROTC Highlights
On March 16, 2018, Poly’s JROTC hosted 245 cadets, guests and instructors from nine schools for the 2018 City-wide JROTC Military Ball at the Baltimore Design School. The Hollywood-themed evening began with a red-carpet arrival followed by customary toasts and a tribute to our nation’s Prisoners of War and Missing in Action. Additionally, each unit recognized their Best Cadet of the Year as well as their King and Queen of Hollywood. After dinner and a cake cutting ceremony, cadets spent the rest of the evening dancing and bonding with fellow cadets from other units. A good time was had by all!

During March 23-25, 26 Poly cadets traveled to New York City, many for the first time. During this 3-day, 2-night trip, cadets visited a variety of historical and cultural landmarks including the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, the American Museum of Natural History and the Empire State Building. Cadets also attended a Broadway show and experienced the sights and sounds of Times Square. Throughout the trip, cadets exercised various life skills that are heavily emphasized in the JROTC curriculum including personal responsibility, self-discipline, financial management, time management and interpersonal skills.
