How Does U.S. Rank Taxwise Internationally?

According to the Tax Foundation, the “structure of a country’s tax code is a determining factor of its economic performance.” The U.S. ranks #17 overall (Title 26 of the U.S. Code, referred to as the Tax Code, has about 4,000 pages). Estonia, Latvia, and New Zealand were the best ranking countries, while France, at #38, was at the end of the list. The rankings are based on corporate taxes, individual taxes, consumption taxes, property taxes, and cross-border rules. #IdeaoftheDay
