6th Sunday of Easter | May 9, 2021

"This is my commandment: love one another as I love you" (Jn 15:12)

This Sunday we will celebrate the final Mass of what has certainly been a different year on campus for all of us. In the midst of exams, graduations, an ongoing pandemic and uncertainty about the future, Jesus comes to us, lifts back the veil of our worldly concerns, and reminds us of the fundamental truth underlying all of reality: God is love (1 Jn 4:8).

As I meditate on this Sunday's readings, I can't help but think that if there is one thing we've learned all year from our time together, I want it to be this: God is love, he loves you, and he wants you to love others. As long as we keep this fundamental truth in our minds and hearts, we can handle anything life has to offer.

Many blessings upon each of you as you begin your exams. Don't miss Mass this week for a special "blessing of the brains." And check out our website for additional Prayers before Exams.

In Christ,
Deacon Matt
This week in Campus Ministry...

  • WEDNESDAY May 12 - CCM Connect Blooper Reel! Laugh along with our goof-ups and shenanigans: premiers at 7:00 pm on YouTube, Facebook and IGTV.
  • The Catholic Student Center will be open throughout exam week. Spend some time praying in the chapel before the Blessed Sacrament, relax upstairs with a movie or game, enjoy some coffee, tea or cocoa or just hang out at the picnic tables and enjoy the view of campus.
