Hi Calvary Family,
During the month of June, the Holy Spirit will be speaking to us from the story of Joseph, recorded in Genesis 37-50. Joseph is a terrific example of what it looks like to live a life characterized by faithfulness and forgiveness. Last Sunday, we learned how to avoid eating the poisonous fruit of bitterness by refraining from planting seeds of bitter envy and jealousy and by digging up roots of bitterness before they produce fruit. Let me remind you of something vital that the Holy Spirit revealed to us: No one can make us envious or jealous. We are responsible for the condition of our hearts.
If we struggle with envy and jealousy, it is because we have fallen into the trap of deriving our sense of self-worth and well-being by comparing our blessings with the blessings of others. We must derive our sense of contentment and dignity from our God-given identity! I am a child of God through faith in Jesus Christ and am already seated in the highest place of honor I could ever hope for. Therefore, I can live from a position of honor rather than in pursuit of honor. If I recognize my God-given dignity, I will not be dependent upon the honor of people and will not be embittered when people dishonor me. I am blessed beyond measure, and the devil is a liar!

Over the next few Sundays, we will turn our attention from Joseph’s brothers to Joseph and begin to learn what it looks like to be faithful to God and people. This Sunday, we will examine Joseph’s faithful choice to resist and flee from sexual temptation.

| | IGNITE YOUTH SUMMER RETREAT | | |
On July 27th-30th, Ignite Youth Ministry will have its third annual summer retreat at Black Rock Retreat in Lancaster, PA! We will stay in hotel rooms, participating in daily prayer and devotions, and engaging in fun activities such as laser tag, a low ropes course, dodgeball, swimming, archery, and much more. This will be a time of fun and fellowship where we will grow close to each other and the Lord. We will provide room and board for three days and two nights. All meals are included. We will have water and snacks available as well. The cost per child is $150. We have sibling discounts for large families. We may also provide partial scholarships and grants to families that are in need.
Total Costs: 1 child costs $150, with a sibling discount of $25 per extra child. Discounts are available for larger families. COMPLETE PAYMENT IS DUE BY FRIDAY, JULY 11, AT NOON.

If you consider Calvary Church your home but have never attended our Discover Calvary Class, your opportunity to do so is right around the corner!! During this class, pastor Randy will review Calvary’s beliefs, values, mission, vision, and structure. The class will be held on June 29, from 1 pm until 3 pm. Lunch will be served!
This class is required for those who want to become members, but we encourage everyone who wants to know more about our church to attend! Please sign up online by or before Wednesday, June 25.

Whether you have been a Christian for one day or twenty years, "KNOW JESUS" is a class that will help you grow in your understanding of who Jesus is, what he has done for us through his death and resurrection, and what he will do for us in the future. In addition to deepening your understanding of Jesus, this class will help equip you to explain to your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers who Jesus is and what he has done for them.
Pastor Randy will be teaching KNOW JESUS on the following three consecutive Wednesday nights: July 9, 16, and 23. The class will be held in the Welcome Center at Calvary, but Zoom is available for those who want to join the class online. Each attendee will receive a copy of the KNOW JESUS COURSE curriculum.

A new women’s Life Group has formed and will meet through the Summer. This group will be studying Paul’s letter to the Romans beginning Saturday, May 31. They will be meeting every other Saturday at 118 Cedar Street, Jenkintown, PA.
