Invest, lead, catalyze and ignite

Inside BCF's Strategic Plan

Banff Canmore Foundation is now one year into our three-year Strategic Plan. We set an ambitious agenda, and are proud of all that's been achieved so far. We've refreshed our brand, launched a new website, transitioned to a new back-end system and laid the groundwork for significant new initiatives.

BCF's purpose is to connect resources and opportunities to activate community potential, enhance quality of life and create belonging for all. The Foundation's Strategic Plan outlines the intentions and goals we have set to realize this purpose.

The five strategic intentions that guide BCF's plan are:

  • Ignite the power of philanthropy
  • Invest in our own capacity to manage growth
  • Create a culture of diversity and inclusion in and through our work
  • Be a catalyst for a resilient civil society
  • Lead in navigating a changing world

This combination of fund development, leadership and resource-building are about leveraging our strengths to better serve community. We're working hard to unlock community potential. Will you join us?

BCF Community Priorities: Natural Environment

BCF's work is guided by four Community Priorities, which are identified through Vital Signs research and community dialogue.

One of these priorities is to support protection and restoration of the natural environment, with a focus on community action to address climate change and reduce emissions.

What funds does BCF hold?

Did you know that BCF stewards more than 20 unique funds, and more are being added all the time?

Ranging from donor-advised funds that support an individual or family's charitable goals to field of interest funds targeting specific community priorities, there are many ways to contribute. We also hold in memorial funds, endowed funds for local charities and scholarship funds.

Pooled together, these funds form community wealth and empower the Bow Valley to solve our greatest challenges right here.

Thank you, Christie!

Christie Pashby is leaving BCF this month to take on a new role as Director of Communications at Banff and Lake Louise Tourism. Please join us in celebrating all that she has contributed over the past three years - she's been an essential member of the BCF team. Thanks to her talent, creativity and leadership, Christie has transformed our ability to share stories, connect with community and articulate the work BCF does to unlock community potential.

We are delighted that she will be working just across the street with one of BCF’s closest partners and look forward to collaborating with her in new and exciting ways.
