We Pray with Her:
Encouragement for All Women Who Lead

Kerry Greenhill (MDiv '05) and Melissa Engel (MDiv '15) both contributed to a new collection entitled We Pray With Her: Encouragement for All Women Who Lead.

This book is gathering a lot of five-star reviews on Amazon, and is being described as "a must-have resource" and the "first devotional to speak directly to my faith and life as a woman and a leader." Congratulations to Revs. Engel and Greenhill!
Out of the Depths:
Your Companion After Sexual Assault

Congratulations also to Emily Flemming (MDiv '14) on the publication of her new book Out of the Depths: Your Companion After Sexual Assault.

These inexpensive books are designed to serve as resources for pastors to gift to those who come to them seeking counsel as they deal with sexual assaults.
The Huffington Post

Dr. Robyn Henderson-Espinoza (PhD '16) was one of several transgender Christian leaders interviewed for an article in The Huffington Post on October 24th.

These leaders have a powerful message for the current administration in Washington - a message about the inherent worth of trans people. Check out the article!

Don't miss the Alumni Stories page on the Iliff website!
The Iliff community was deeply saddened last week to hear of two sudden losses. Please join us as we stand with those who are in the midst of deep grief.
Dr. Carrie Doehring's husband, Rev. George Magnuson, died suddenly of a brain injury on Thursday, October 18th. While the family has already held a private committal service, a public memorial service is scheduled for:

Expressions of care can be sent to Carrie Doehring at 2310 South University Boulevard, Denver, 80210.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church: The Friends of Music, 2015 Glenarm Place, Denver, CO 80205.
Dr. Luís León, a Professor in the Religious Studies Department at the University of Denver, died suddenly at home on Tuesday, October 16th.

Alumni-Driven Opportunities
Spirituality Across Horizons

Katherine Flahive (MDiv '17) is instrumental in the launch of this new program, which offers half-day workshops and four-week courses designed to create opportunities for spiritual reflection, awareness and growth that build on one another. Visit their website for more information.

Tom Bandy is coming back to Iliff!

Dr. Tom Bandy brings a wealth of expertise as he helps us think about how to navigate the changing cultural landscape. In a series of half-day workshops, Dr. Bandy will help us think about dealing with polarized congregations, using MissionInsite for strategic planning, putting the right clergy leaders in the right places, and navigating the emerging world of personal religion. Recent graduates from Iliff's programs (particularly the MDiv) have discovered the ways in which understanding the local ministry context can make a world of difference in terms of clergy effectiveness.

Early bird pricing is available through the end of October, and alumni discounts apply (use the discount code IliffAlum2018 for a 20% discount). For information or and registration, visit resource.iliff.edu.
Save the Dates - the 2019 Renewal Conference Approaches

This year's theme: Diversity in Divided Times - Challenges and Hopes. We are finalizing our plans for plenary speakers right now, and you'll start hearing about those soon. Next up: planning the workshops and panels. Stay tuned as it all comes together, and keep Wednesday morning (February 6) open for an Alumni breakfast!
