Illegal Immigrant Chaos, Property Tax Relief Passed, November Ballot Information, and More!

Here are some of the stories we are following this week. Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for up-to-the-minute news.

  • Bureaucrats within the City of Colorado Springs want more bike lanes. They decided to add more bike lanes on Cascade Avenue, right where the El Paso County Board of Commissioners meet. The Commissioners were not consulted, and are not pleased. They also question the volume of bicycle traffic the city cites as frequenting that section of road. The city says between 158 and 177 bicycles pass through this section of road during peak driving time. Seems high. Do you believe this statistic?

  • Do you know why bureaucrats in Colorado, such as Jared Polis, want apartments concentrated in certain areas, and bike lanes constructed instead of roads? They are implementing China’s 15-Minute City central planning policy, where bureaucrats like Polis create little ant farms for us to live in, and applaud their greatness. Is this communist central planning the proper role of an American government that is commanded, by a written constitution, to protect and defend our rights, rather than micromanage how we live, work, and travel?

  • Speaking of Governor Jared Polis, he is denying that his and his party’s promotion of massive illegal immigration has led to a Venezuelan criminal gang taking over apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado. Members of the Aurora City Council, as well as many Aurora citizens, say otherwise. Because it is true. A well-armed, dangerous, Venezuelan criminal gang has indeed taken over apartment complexes in Aurora, and residents are afraid. What will this criminal gang do next?

  • Some news reports are indicating that all this Venezuelan criminal gang attention is negatively impacting other illegal immigrant communities in Colorado. Why are we, as citizens of Colorado and America, being forced to deal with, and pay for, any of this illegal immigration chaos at all? They came here illegally.

  • An online viral video was recently released, which shows supposed residents of the Aurora apartment complex mentioned above saying that there are no Venezuelan gangs living there and that they are being unfairly targeted.

  • The Colorado Legislature has passed property tax reform again. We are told that this is, finally, a permanent solution to ever-increasing property taxes.

  • Denver has hatched a plan to combat crime in downtown. They will ban food trucks from operating downtown during the weekends. That should fix it.

  • Denver has purchased, at taxpayer expense, an entire hotel to house illegal immigrants. American Rescue Plan dollars have been used previously to house immigrants in this hotel. They used $43 million in taxpayer money for this purchase, which works out to around $143,000 per room. Seems high, but when you are the government, someone else bears the costs of your wasteful spending.

  • Also in illegal immigrant news this week, some professionally-manufactured, so-called racist signs have been professionally installed, with proper fasteners, on city property in some areas of Denver. Additionally, some of these so-called racist signs have been professionally installed in the same manner in Chicago. In related news, there’s a presidential election coming up.

  • This November, Colorado voters will get to decide whether Ranked Choice Voting will be implemented in the state. Do you think this is a good idea?

  • This November ballot will be a big one, with over a dozen different questions. Some are good, some are bad. Here’s all the information for you to make your informed decision.

  • One ballot initiative coming in November would direct $350 million toward Colorado law enforcement. These funds would go toward salary increases and hiring of new officers. Will Colorado law-enforcement officers be able to police properly without being used as scapegoats by a radical legislature?

  • The Martin Drake power plant in Colorado Springs has officially been demolished. Now, we prepare for higher utility bills, and the mad rush to reward developers who want to build on this land.

  • The Ford Amphitheater saga continues in Colorado Springs. Attorneys for the residents, who are negatively impacted by noise from this venue, indicate that Colorado Springs officials ignored state noise laws when granting approval to build this concert venue. Would they do such a thing? If they did do such a thing, would they give themselves a pass, like the Flying W Ranch water tower?

  • The Penrose Public Library in downtown Colorado Springs will have a 7-foot-high fence installed for security. Because fences and walls work, folks.

  • Taxpayer money is used, in Colorado and elsewhere, to train leftist activists in colleges and universities. One example is this accounting of radical class offerings at Colorado State University. Why are we being forced, as taxpayers, to train activists rather than educate future productive citizens?

  • If you would like to help support us in our mission as government watchdogs by becoming a Newsletter Sponsor, we are offering two sponsorships for each weekly newsletter, at the nominal cost of $100 each. Funds raised from these sponsorship opportunities will help us to keep looking out for taxpayers.

Here are some upcoming meetings in the area. We hope you can attend one or more! If there are other public meetings you’d like to see announced here, please drop us a line. We are happy to include them in an upcoming newsletter. These might be government-related, candidate, or elected official meetings. Thanks!
