Illegal Immigrant Safety Net, Eminent Domain, Taxpayer-Funded Satanists, and More!

Here are some of the stories we are following this week. Connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for up-to-the-minute news.

  • Eminent domain is causing problems for one farm in Brighton, Colorado. The Parkland Metropolitan District near Brighton is using eminent domain to install a drainage pipe on the farm. This will negatively impact the farm’s operations. This farm has been in business since 1929.

  • Eminent domain is also impacting some residents in Elbert County. Xcel Energy will need to intrude on private property to build power lines to carry all that fantasy green energy electricity Governor Polis is forcing on us.

  • El Paso County rejected a proposal for a residential development near Schriever Air Force Base. The proximity of the proposed site to the base was concerning. The developer may appeal this decision.

  • The rebates wealthy Coloradans get from taxpayers to purchase electric vehicles and heat pumps will be cut in half next year. Why only half, when it could be cut completely?

  • One illegal immigrant advocacy group helped a child rapist escape immigration officials in Denver. Hopefully, some of these advocates will go to jail for letting a child rapist go free in the name of supporting illegal immigration.

  • Illegal immigrant advocates are also upset that Medicaid officials gave ICE personnel the location information of illegal immigrant Medicaid recipients. That’s what advocates get for relying on the nanny state.

  • The sanctuary city of Denver will stop using its license plate reader cameras out of privacy concerns for taxpaying citizens who might have their data misused. Just kidding! They are concerned about illegal aliens, not taxpaying citizens. It’s just fine to harass and punish taxpaying citizens, and it pays better, too. These cameras have led to the arrest of 300 illegal aliens in Denver, which caught the eye of an illegal immigrant-supporting Denver City Council.

  • The City of Loveland has also had its license plate reader system accessed by ICE. The Loveland police chief discussed the details.

  • Denver has seen a 60% drop in homicide rates since President Donald Trump was elected, and he demanded that immigration laws be enforced. Yet, the Denver City Council protects criminal illegal aliens at every turn. This is how they treat taxpayers.

  • Also in illegal alien news this week, ICE has arrested almost a dozen Iranian illegal immigrants over the weekend in the United States, including two in Colorado Springs. Probably not a good time to have unvetted Iranian nationals loose in America.

  • Response times are still a problem for customers of the Colorado Springs Police Department. This problem has been dragging on for some time now.

  • Should taxpayers be funding Satanists to march and chant at the gay pride parade? Well, taxpayers are funding this. When can we get this money returned to us? If they can march and chant, they can get jobs and fund themselves.

  • The previous plan to revamp the Colorado Springs City Auditorium failed. Now, the city has hired a new company to manage the facility and oversee renovations.

  • It’s that special time of year again. Bike to Work Day happened on June 25. Did you ride your bicycle in the rain and hail to save Earth?

  • A new El Paso County Commissioner has been sworn in to replace Cami Bremer. You may recall, Bremer resigned her seat to take a position with Pikes Peak United Way. Welcome aboard, Commissioner Lauren Nelson.

  • A new project in Colorado Springs will improve pedestrian and bicycle trails in the city. If you’d like roads improved, too bad for you.

  • The RTD Board has given preliminary approval for exploring the feasibility of Front Range Rail between Denver and Fort Collins. You may recall that Governor Polis wants us all to ride the choo-choo train now.

  • The TRACER website in Colorado, which tracks campaign finance reports from local politicians, was taken down by Secretary of State Jena Griswold. The site indicated to customers it was taken down for maintenance, but Griswold took it down to scrub contact information from the site. She states this was done out of security concerns after the political assassinations in Minnesota. Addresses for elected officials were removed, but not the addresses of individual donors. Why is that?

  • Get ready to pay more for DMV services in Colorado. The agency is raising prices across the board on June 30.

  • A Denver judge has ruled that Governor Jared Polis does not have to comply with a recent federal immigration subpoena, since it violates our sanctuary state law. The judge did state that he would not stop Polis or anyone in his administration if they did turn information over to ICE.

  • If you would like to help support us in our mission as government watchdogs by becoming a Newsletter Sponsor, we are offering two sponsorships for each weekly newsletter, at the nominal cost of $100 each. Funds raised from these sponsorship opportunities will help us to keep looking out for taxpayers.

Here are some upcoming meetings in the area. We hope you can attend one or more! If there are other public meetings you’d like to see announced here, please drop us a line. We are happy to include them in an upcoming newsletter. These might be government-related, candidate, or elected official meetings. Thanks!

Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube Channel. Since most of the City and County board and commission meetings are not televised or recorded, we are trying to remedy that. We now have a camera and tripod for volunteers to check out for future meetings.

If you have a tip about a story in the Pikes Peak region that you aren’t seeing reported, let us know. We will see what we can find out.
