Dear People of Saint Anne,
The Illinois Attorney General has released a report, which is the culmination of a multi-year review of the Illinois Catholic dioceses' response to the child sexual abuse crisis. The release of this report will undoubtedly resurface great pain and reopen wounds for those who have been harmed by priests and other representatives of the Church. As a priest and pastor, I offer my sincere apology to victim-survivors. All of us feel great shame and sympathy as we are reminded of the betrayal of trust and harm that has been done. Let us recommit to care for those who have been harmed and to redouble our efforts to create safe and healthy environments for our life together as church.
