Illinois Girls Get an Up-Close Look at U.S. Women's National Team Heroes
By Greg Bates, Special to AHAI - Illinois is making its imprint on the national stage for women's hockey.  If it wasn't already clear the state was producing some of the top female American players, it certainly was when the U.S. Women's National Team arrived in Chicago at the end of October.  Of the 23 players selected to compete with Team USA in the 2018 Four Nations Cup, three are from Illinois: Kendall Coyne Schofield (Palos Heights), Megan Bozek (Buffalo Grove) and Mikaela Gardner (Plainfield).  Coyne and Bozek got to play host when the WNT held its pre-camp at the Chicago Blackhawks' flashy practice facility, MB Ice Arena. 16 Illinois Rinks/Associations to Host Try Hockey For Free Events on Saturday, November 10th
On Saturday, November 10th, USA Hockey and 450 local association across the country will host Try Hockey For Free Day! Participating locations encourage kids, ages 4 to 9, to come try youth hockey as part of Come Play Hockey Month. Attention Tier II Presidents & Team Managers
By Gregg Chudacoff, AHAI Tier II Chairman - Tier II club presidents and team managers, please be aware of the following dates for the Tier II Illinois State Hockey Championships. The exemption process begins on Saturday, December 1 and concludes on Saturday, December 8, 2018. Registration will begin on Sunday, December 9 and ends on Sunday, January 6, 2019. At the next stoppage of play, which happens to be a goal scored by the Blue team, the Linesman informs the Referee of the White goal and it is determined that White did indeed score the goal. Each month during the regular season they recognize the excellence of a youth hockey player, coach and volunteer. AHAI congratulates October's Award Winners: Player:  Matthew McDonald, Joliet Jaguars, Coach: Keith Fahforth, Wheaton West Hockey, and Volunteer: Jane Boyle, Wilmette Braves. First-Year Head Coach Nick Madonia Helps Revive Crystal Lake South
By Ross Forman - Crystal Lake South is one of the great stories so far this season.  The Gators tied their first two games of the season, against Benet Academy and Hinsdale Central in their own Gator Cup, held in West Dundee. They then won their next nine games, giving up more than two goals only once in that stretch, which included wins over Naperville Central, Warren, Fox Valley and others.  CLS lost its first game of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 24, falling 5-1 to LZMW in Vernon Hills. Illinois Boasts 3 Champions & 8 Finalists in the 2018 CCM World Invite in Chicago
Three (3) Illinois teams claimed CCM World Invite Championship titles on Sunday, November 3rd. Over 1,220 games were played in a myriad of rinks throughout the Chicagoland area by 526 teams and nearly 10,000 players. Illinois also had eight (8) second place finishes and numerous teams advanced through to the quarter final and semi final rounds (click HERE for a complete list). Congratulations to all our Illinois teams for their excellent showing at the 2018 CCM World Invite in Chicago!

Three U.S. Teams in Action During Upcoming International Break
The U.S. Women's National Team and USA Hockey's National Team Development Program's Under-18 and Under-17 Teams will all compete in tournaments beginning this week during the first international break of the 2018-19 season.

2018 Four Nations Cup:  The U.S. Women's National Team will compete in the Four Nations Cup Nov. 6-10 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. READ MORE>>

2018 U18 Five Nations Tournament:  The U.S. National Under-18 Team will compete in the Under-18 Five Nations Tournament Nov. 7-11 at Buly Aréna in Kravaře, Czech Republic. READ MORE>>
