The annual Celebrating Local Philanthropy Workshop and Luncheon  will be held on Tuesday, November 15 at the Carol A. Reitan Conference  Center in the Normal Marriott Hotel. The one-hour luncheon  will recognize our Philanthropists of the Year, Darrell and Donna Hartweg, who have donated time and treasure to many organizations in the Central  Illinois area for many years. Luncheon speakers will be recipients of 2016 grants from IPCF.  Read more
Women to Women Giving Circle announces new grant cycle
The Women to Women Giving Circle will accept grant applications beginning September 27 through October 28, 2016 for programs that seek to inspire and empower girls and young women to achieve their highest potential. The group has $40,000 available to grant. Over the past six years, the Women to Women Giving Circle has granted over $205,000 to local programs and projects that encourage advancement and opportunities for women and children.  Read more
IPCF to be honored at November 9th luncheon
Illinois Prairie Community Foundation has been named the 2016 Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Central Illinois Chapter. The foundation will be honored at AFP's National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon on Nov. 9 at the Par-a-Dice Hotel in East Peoria.  Read more
2016-17 YEP group has team building event
What's the best way for students of different ages from different high schools to begin functioning as a cohesive group? This year, as for the past three, the Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) group met at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center in Hudson to undertake the Team Challenge Course.  Read more

Pigs on the Prairie draws enthusiastic crowd
It was a perfect autumn day - blue skies and low humidity - to visit beautiful Sugar Grove Nature Center in Funk's Grove near McLean, IL. And that's exactly what a host of families did on September 11. Besides the usual lure of hiking, bird watching, and playing in Imagination Grove, the big attraction was "Pigs on the Prairie," an immersive experience scattered throughout the grounds of Sugar Grove. Funded by a grant from Illinois Prairie Community Foundation's Mirza Arts and Culture Fund, the educational and fun program was a perfect blend of art and ecology.  Read more
