We have wonderful news! Illinois Senate Bill 955 passed in the Illinois Senate yesterday at the State Capitol in Springfield. While we celebrate this victory, this is just the first step.
The Illinois House must pass this bill or a similar bill, and Governor Rauner must sign the bill for it to become law. Both actions present major challenges to our They Deserve More Coalition, but we will be up to the challenges!
Look for future emails explaining the next steps. Let's keep up the pressure. As you can all agree, people with disabilities deserve more...and they need caregivers who earn a living wage.
