During National Social Work Month in 2017, Art Blinick retired from his 42 years as a clinical social worker, and at the time, he shared an article with The New Social Worker magazine titled, Forty-Two Years as a Social Worker: A Calling or a Career?
An excerpt from his article said: “As I thought back to my earliest years, as I know it has with many others, it seemed entirely natural that I got involved in a “helping profession.” Certain faith, family, and cultural factors had steered me in that direction, and two core values of social work - social justice and integrity - were important to me, especially while in high school and college, during a time of great social unrest and change."
Art left this world during Social Work Month 2022. He leaves a lasting impact on those he touched during his social work profession, on his family and friends, and through the memorial scholarship that he created long ago in honor of his parents, Samuel and Ruth Blinick.
