Home ownership is an important variable to help decrease racial disparities that exist in Champaign County. We will review the history of redlining nationally and in our community, look at current statistics as it relates to home ownership, and define the wealth gap as it relates to race. Overall, the focus is on historical and current racial inequities from a data perspective as it relates to housing in real numbers.

2022 CQI Conference

The theme this year is Nurturing Your CQI Garden. This year’s conference will highlight innovative strategies for building, maintaining, and reaping the benefits of an effective 21st century CQI system. CQI systems in the 21st century should reflect an organization's policy, objectives and commitment to quality. This includes authentic engagement of the work force and service recipients throughout the CQI process, engaging in CQI activities that center race, equity and inclusion, and applying well developed quality tools and techniques throughout the organization.  
Student Spotlight
MSW candidate, Grace McClowry, was a featured finalist for the campus-wide 2022 Illinois Innovation Award. Grace is working on a Photovoice and Social-Emotional Learning project that uses images and voices to foster a just and more equitable society. Photovoice is a community-participatory action research method that Grace has innovatively adapted to engage youth and elevate their voices. The project engages parents, teachers, and students in the process of creating social change.
