May is Mental Health and Trauma Awareness Month. The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign School of Social Work and BHWELL program are proud to partner with the Illinois Light Initiative and others across Illinois to raise awareness around mental health and trauma. We will explore together the wonderful world of brain science, the transformational power of the PEACE process, and how to build relational cohesion based on the things that are important to your family.

The American Academy for Social Work and Social Welfare spearheaded the Grand Challenges of Social Work, representing 13 challenges focused on improving individual and family well-being, strengthening the social fabric, and helping create a more just society. Named after the grand challenge of “Harnessing Technology for Social Good”, the School of Social Work created a lecture series that brought together interdisciplinary researchers to present their innovative technology research and applications for furthering the interests of disadvantaged and marginalized groups in our society.
