Interprofessional Team Receives UIC I-TEAM Award

The Peoria Immersion Day program for interprofessional education was awarded the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs’s 2022 I-TEAM award, an annual award given to faculty and staff who have demonstrated excellence in interprofessional practice and education. Professor Janet Liechty is a member of the planning team and a faculty recognition ceremony will be held on October 26th.

2022 School of Social Work Faculty Awarded Funding to Address Racism & Social Injustice

In July 2020, Chancellor Jones announced a $2 million annual commitment by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to focus the intellectual and scholarly talent of our university to examine two of the greatest challenges facing our society and seek new solutions. Recognizing the critical need for universities across our nation to prioritize research focused on systemic racial inequities and injustices that exist not only in our communities but in higher education itself, the Call to Action to Address Racism & Social Injustice Research Program will provide support for academic research and the expansion of community-based knowledge that advances the understanding of systemic racism and generationally embedded racial disparity.

This year’s conference will highlight innovative strategies for building, maintaining, and reaping the benefits of an effective 21st century CQI system. CQI systems in the 21st century should reflect an organization's policy, objectives and commitment to quality. This includes authentic engagement of the work force and service recipients throughout the CQI process, engaging in CQI activities that center race, equity and inclusion, and applying well developed quality tools and techniques throughout the organization.
