Service Spotlight

On-the-Job Training Funds

Cut the cost of training new hires — get reimbursed for wages while employees learn.

What it is: On the Job Training (OJT) uses federal WIOA funds to reimburse a significant portion of a new hire’s wages while they are trained on the job.

Why it matters: OJT reduces upfront training costs and financial risk while allowing employers to shape talent to their exact needs.

Business impact: Employers see stronger retention and faster productivity from workers trained specifically for their roles.

Email DES.ijoblinkjobs@illinois.gov and tell us where your business is located. An IDES Business Services staff member will reach out.
