Some lighting fixtures demand attention. Shapes does something far more interesting — it earns it quietly.
Designed by Jordi Pla for Estiluz, Shapes is an architectural wall light conceived around a deceptively simple idea: that a light fixture should feel less like something added to a space and more like something that naturally belongs to it. The result is a piece that emerges from the wall almost organically, integrating into its surroundings rather than competing with them.
At the heart of the design are two metal screens that wrap around the light source, projecting illumination indirectly into the room. The effect is exactly what great ambient lighting should be — soft, balanced, and inviting. No glare. No harshness. Just light that diffuses harmoniously into the environment and makes a space feel genuinely comfortable.
What sets Shapes apart, though, is the tension it holds so effortlessly between opposites.
It is asymmetrical, yet visually harmonious. It is distinctive, yet never disruptive. That lateral asymmetry creates a quiet dynamism — a sense of movement and interest — without unsettling the aesthetic balance of the space around it. Installed vertically, horizontally, or in combined configurations, multiple Shapes fixtures can create compelling visual figures across a wall, giving designers a genuinely expressive tool.
There's a practical dimension as well. The front screen can incorporate signage, making Shapes an elegant solution for wayfinding in commercial environments — functionality and beauty occupying the same form without compromise.
For residential and commercial projects alike, Shapes adapts. It performs. And it does so without ever raising its voice.
Arizona Lighting Sales brings Estiluz to our clients because we believe lighting should be as thoughtfully designed as the spaces it lives in. Shapes is a perfect example of exactly that.
