Wear Blue Day Friday, April 6th | Everywhere!
Wear blue on April 6 to recognize child abuse prevention efforts across the country. Take a picture of yourself and your colleagues all dressed in blue and share it on your favorite social media platform using the #WearBlue hashtag!

Pinwheel Photo Contest -   April 1st - April 30th
Illuminate Colorado and CO4Kids are partnering to hold a statewide pinwheel photo contest. Click below for information about prizes, guidelines, and voting. Winners (photos with the most likes) will be announced at the beginning of May. We are so excited to see the creative ways Coloradans show their support for Pinwheels for Prevention!

Strengthening Colorado Families and Communities Conference
Save The Date! The 2018 Strengthening Colorado Families and Communities Conference will take place from September 26th to 28th 2018 in Vail, Colorado. Conference Registration opens in early April.

Upcoming Training: Nurturing Healthy Sexual Development
Illuminate Colorado is accepting applications to participate in a Training of Trainers (ToT) for those interested in becoming certified facilitators of Nurturing Healthy Sexual Development (NHSD). The ToTs will take place on May 1st and August 31st in the Denver Metro area and will also serve as a recertification for those who have already been trained. NHSD is an introductory workshop developed to foster healthy, nurturing relationships that support the healthy growth and development of children. 

Welcome our new staff member!
Jason Read is the new Education & Outreach Manager for Illuminate Colorado. Throughout his career, Jason has served families and children as a CDHS Caseworker, a Head Start Family Engagement Specialist, and as a Family Literacy Instructor. In 2017, Jason earned his Master of Education degree with Specialization in Adult Education and Training from Colorado State University. He is excited for the opportunity to synthesize his experience and education in his new role with Illuminate Colorado. Jason lives in the foothills west of Denver with his wife and daughters. Together, they enjoy hiking, camping, canoeing, and biking in the Rocky Mountains
