2022 Testing Season
FSA Reading and Math Camps
Begin This Week!
|
|
The 2022 Florida State Assessment (FSA) season is here. Mr. Tony Graham has provided the schedule for this year, and you may access it here.
In preparation for the FSA exams, ISNP is providing before and after school camps for ALL students. The purpose of these camps is to offer a review of this year's material and to provide test-taking strategies. FSA Reading and Math Camps begin Monday, April 11 for students in grades 6-10. Information was sent home the week of April 4. Geometry and Algebra I camps are also underway. The times and dates can be found in the Mark Your Calendar section of each weekly newsletter. Additionally, parents of students who scored a 2 or below on previous FSA exams will receive letters from our guidance department.
Help your child be successful by assisting us in encouraging him or her to attend these camps. Please make sure your child eats a healthy dinner and gets plenty of sleep the night prior to the test, and have them eat a healthy breakfast and arrive to school on time the morning of the exam.
Please contact Mr. Graham at Tony.graham@imagineschools.org if you have questions about testing.

From Mrs. Sharon Ness, ISNP High School U.S. History Teacher:
As U.S. History students finished up their unit on the 1920s, they were tasked with creating character collages of some of the famous figures from this decade in history. The character collages had to have 5 quotes spoken by their chosen historical figure and at least 15 pictures demonstrating how that person was important to our history and specifically the decade. Some of the people chosen were Zora Neale Hurston, Babe Ruth, Henry Ford, Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Henry Ford, Al Capone, Sacco & Vanzetti, Calvin Coolidge, Jack Dempsey, Bobby Jones and Josephine Baker. (Collage with red background.)
As students began the unit on World War II, the initial focus was our entry into the war, which was the attack on Pearl Harbor. Picture collages made by students were both before and after the attack in order for the students to see the devastating destruction that occurred from the Japanese attack on our Pacific Naval Fleet in Hawaii. Following that, the students watched a few short videos of the attack, did some research and then were given a writing assignment entitled, “Reporting on Pearl Harbor.” Students were to assume the role of journalists and write a front page story worthy of being included on the front page of the newspaper. (Collage with grey back ground.)

UPDATED March 2022
Protocols for Students and Staff with Exposure to COVID-19
Students and Employees who do not test positive for COVID-19 or develop symptoms are NOT required to quarantine, however:
- Parents or legal guardians of students who are known to have been in direct contact with an individual who received a positive diagnostic test for COVID-19 may choose one of the following options:
-
Allow their student to attend school, school-sponsored activities, or be on school property, without restrictions or disparate treatment, so long as the student remains asymptomatic; or
-
Quarantine the student for a period of time not to exceed five days from the date of last direct contact with an individual that is positive for COVID-19.
You may access the ISNP COVID-19 Dashboard HERE, and an updated infographic is attached below that provides quick reference to the latest guidance on quarantining.
If you have any questions about these protocols, please contact Ms. Mary Devore, Clinic Aide, by calling 941-426-2050, ext. 602 or by emailing her at Mary.devore@imagineschools.org.
