Imani Village Opens, New Kingswood Website

With The Community, For The Community

Imani Village Officially Opens

Pennrose, REACH Riverside (managing partner for The WRK Group, including The Warehouse and Kingswood Community Center), the Wilmington Housing Authority, and local and state officials celebrated the grand opening of Imani Village, the first of the multi-phase, community-led master planned redevelopment of Northeast Wilmington’s Riverside neighborhood. The project is designed under the Purpose Built Communities Network model, with phase one delivering 74 mixed-income rental apartments.

This summer, Imani Village welcomed 14 former Riverside residents to the neighborhood. The WRK Group shadowed one of our new residents, Clarissa, to capture and share her personal story as well as her hopes for a new chapter in life for her and her children.

RISE Youth Give Back

The Warehouse RISE participants give back to their Riverside community!

This month, our current RISE cohort finished up their Community Service week by partnering with Councilwoman Zanthia Oliver and Multiplying Good to provide a community cleanup to Riverside. A big thank you to our partners for teaching our RISE participants the value of service to others!

HBCU Week - Greek Edition at The Warehouse

Join us at The Warehouse on Friday, September 2, 2022, as we host HBCU Fair - Greek Edition! Our “Greek-themed” week, is geared to promote HBCUs and youth engagement with members of the nine historical African American sororities and fraternities:

· Alpha Kappa Alpha

· Kappa Alpha Psi

· Omega Psi Phi

· Delta Sigma Theta

· Phi Beta Sigma

· Zeta Phi Beta

· Sigma Gamma Rho

During this time youth are encouraged to engage with the sororities and fraternities to learn more about their offerings and services as well as learn about local HBCUs, including Delaware State University, Lincoln University, and Cheyney University.
