Christ the King Sunday
Even after Israel had experienced the vagaries of kings, the people still longed for a true king to set things right. He would have the king’s title of Anointed One (Messiah); he would be the “one like a human being” (Son of Man) given dominion in Daniel’s vision. Jesus is given these titles, even though he is nothing like an earthly king. His authority comes from the truth to which he bears witness, and those who recognize the truth voluntarily listen to him. We look forward to the day he is given dominion, knowing his victory will be the nonviolent victory of love.
Sunday Hybrid Worship
November 21st Prelude begins at 10:20 a.m.,
Service at 10:30 a.m.
If you would like to participate in Holy Communion and you're participating via Zoom, you are invited to prepare a small bit of bread of any sort, and wine or juice if they are accessible to you, creating sacred space.

If you're joining us in-person, for safety we have individually packaged communion with either wine or grape juice that you can pick up at the entrance of the sanctuary. We will commune all together in the pews at the designated time.

Special Note from Church Leadership & the Reopening Team
With the weather changing and colder months, Leadership and the Reopening Team are working to maintain a safe and comfortable worship environment. If weather permits, cracked windows and fans may be used to increase air circulation. On cold or rainy Sundays, worshippers should expect windows in the Sanctuary to remain closed. Our goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and welcoming worship experience for all whether you are worshipping in-person or via Zoom!
Poinsettia Orders Are Being Taken
Help decorate the sanctuary for the upcoming Christmas season! Poinsettia order forms are inserted into the worship bulletin or you may use this electronic fillable form. Flowers are $20.00 per 6" pot. Please put your completed order form & payment either in the offering collection plate or send them to the church office. The deadline to submit orders is Dec. 12th.
Coffee Hour After Worship
The City of Evanston's Health & Human Services Department has updated its masking guidelines and individuals over 2 years of age are required wear a mask in all public indoor settings, regardless of vaccination status. We encourage those who attend Sunday worship in-person to come to the Social Hall for conversation, announcements and celebrations. There will be no food or drink, so that we can all remain masked. Please value this time for sharing between those attending worship in person and online. Sharing food and drink after worship may resume in the future. Taking these safety precautions is one of the ways that we actively love one another.
