Dear Friends,
Serving as your interim pastor has been a joy and an honor. As I’ve often said, I did not expect to be called to this work back in December 2024, but I am deeply grateful that I was. You have blessed me in many ways during this particular chapter of my life and ministry. Thank you for your kindness, encouragement, patience, and trust as I have sought to do what God called me to do in partnership with you.
Pastoral transitions can be fragile seasons for a congregation for many reasons, but I entered this time with a focus on lifting up your strengths as both coach and cheerleader. So hear me clearly: God has graced this community with abundant gifts: a generous and caring congregation, strong leadership, a talented staff, a deep commitment to faith formation and outreach, and above all, an earnest desire to know and serve Jesus Christ. These are just a few of the reasons I have great confidence in your future.
One important detail to reiterate as we shift into this next phase: while April 19 will be my last Sunday in the pulpit, I will continue serving as your interim pastor on a quarter-time basis until your next pastor arrives. In this role, I will continue to supervise staff, moderate the session, coordinate guest preachers and worship preparation, resource committees and other groups, and co-officiate memorial services as needed. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out at bart@immanuelpc.org.
Now, let’s celebrate our ministry together!
Joyfully,
Pastor Bart
