Updates to CT Sector Rules – November 25, 2020
The State of Connecticut released updated sector rules this afternoon that have a significant impact on the Main Pool schedule and operations. These changes take affect immediately.
The published updated sector rules include the following change to pool capacities that had not previously been announced:

"CAPACITY - No more than 4 swimmers will be allowed in the pool at any time. Patrons on the pool deck area shall maintain 6 ft social distancing at all times. "

If you had reservations in the Main Pool for Friday, November 27th and forward, your reservations have been cancelled. We are actively working on an updated schedule that will be posted on the website here, and released on SignUpGenius for reservations by 6 a.m. tomorrow for, at minimum, November 27th through 29th.

In light of this change, the 11.19.2020 notice regarding removal of reservations after 10:30 a.m. on weekdays and 11:30 a.m. on weekends is officially retracted. All pool lanes will again require SignUpGenius reservation until further notice. All lanes will be single-swimmer lanes. Household members will not be permitted to share lanes. Pool maximum is four swimmers.

  • Swim lessons remain unaffected as they remain within capacities.
  • The Stroke Clinics scheduled to begin December 1st and later are cancelled.

At this time, these changes only affect the Main Pool and not the Therapy Pool.

We will continue to work diligently for the health and safety of all of our members, staff and other guests through these changes.

We thank you for continuing to support us as we work together to provide the community with valuable options for physical and mental health during these extraordinary times.

Please Continue to Self-Screen Before You Come!

  • We cannot tell you how much we appreciate the caution all of our members and staff have been exercising. While many of you know the questions by heart, here is a reminder for self-screening at home:
  • Have you been in close contact with confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
  • Are you experiencing a new cough, new shortness of breath, or new sore throat?
  • Have you had a fever of 100.4F or greater in the last 48 hours?
  • Take your temperature - if it is 100.4 or higher, please don’t come in.
  • Remember - an answer of "YES" to any of these means you need to stay home.

Still not sure what "close contact" is?
"Close contact" is defined by the health district as having spent 15 minutes or more with-in 6 feet a COVID-positive person.

With the social distancing measures in place in our facility, there should be no point where our members meet this definition. Please mind the social distancing markers, and other signs and reminders to keep yourself and others as safe as possible.

The above stated policy is subject to change at any time with updated public health data and guidance from public health officials.
Reminders of general facility-wide procedures:
MASKS or cloth face coverings that completely cover the nose and mouth are required except in the pools.

SOCIAL DISTANCING is required of facility users. Follow signage for traffic patterns throughout the facility.
WAIVER AND RELEASE All members wishing to participate in Community Center activities must sign the waiver and release found here.

CLEANING AND DISINFECTING is increased and intensified throughout the facility. Employees will clean all equipment frequently and members must wipe down equipment before and after each use with provided products and materials that meet EPA and CDC guidelines for use against COVID-19. Each area will be closed twice daily for full area deep cleaning and disinfecting. A third deep cleaning and disinfection will occur in the evening when the facility is closed to the public.

WATER FOUNTAINS are closed. Please bring your own water bottle. Water bottle refill stations may be used for refill of personal water bottles only.
