Kashmiri Red Chili (Degi Mirch) This chili is well-known for it's vibrant red hue. It is used for for it's coloring properties rather than it's heat. It has only slightly more heat than paprika and it can be up to 8 times milder than a jalapeño. The occasional kashmiri chili will pack some heat, but in our ground kashmiri chili, the heat tone is evenly mild. It is most commonly used in curries, and it's what gives tandoori chicken it's signature color. It is also delicious and beautiful paired with fruits and cheeses.

Lucknow Fennel Seed This special variety of fennel is smaller, crunchier, and sweeter, and more aromatic than your typical fennel seeds. It is reminiscent of anise or licorice. Use for pastries, yogurts, desserts, or salads. I like to chew ¼ teaspoon after a meal as a breath freshener and to help with digestion.

Pranayama I start my day by practicing Pranayama. Pranayama is the ancient science of breathing exercises from India. Doing this daily has immense benefits on the respiratory and overall health. I have been practicing it since my childhood and I love it. You can find many free videos teaching Pranayama on YouTube , or we have a DVD by Dr. Vasant Lad available in our online shop. Amla Powder When I was growing up, I used to fresh, tart amla berries right off the tree. I got to enjoy this experience again on one of my recent trips to India to visit our amla producer. Since fresh berries are hard to import, the fresh fruit is converted to powder at very low heat under 104°F (40 °C) to retain the nutrients. I like to add Amla Powder to my smoothies or even just drink it in a little water with turmeric .

Neem Soap Neem has long been used in Ayurvedic practices to balance pitta and kapha. Use this soothing soap on both skin and hair. The soap is formulated with both the neem seed and the neem leaf. Amla Activated Charcoal Soap Activated Charcoal is a by-product of burning a carbon source---in this case amla, the Indian gooseberry. Activated charcoal is non-toxic and has shown many benefits. Made from amla is even better. Organic Fenugreek Leaves (Kasoori Methi) With their mild taste like fennel and celery, in Indian cooking, fenugreek leaves are used in naan bread, as well as in vegetable dishes and curry sauces.

Black Salt (Indian Kala Namak) This salt (Indian Kala Namak) contains trace amounts of sulfur compounds that give it a unique umami-like flavor, similar to a boiled egg.
